Roy Taberer
Roy is an admitted attorney and intellectual property law specialist. He has had over twelve years’ experience in intellectual property law (patents, trademarks, designs, copyright), commercial drafting, contracts, and franchise law. His IP experience is wide-ranging and includes industrial and mining, pharmaceuticals, technology and a variety of SMMEs and start-ups. He has spoken at numerous conferences and workshops, and on radio interviews on intellectual property law and patent law, and have had articles published in this field. He is a CEDR accredited mediator, and is passionate about seeking solutions between parties through mediation, rather than litigation. He holds an LLB degree and a BSc degree in Chemistry and Cellular Biology. He is a member of the Cape Law Society, the SAIIPL (South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law), the South African group of AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), and the Cape Town Chamber of Commerce.
Roy has recently been appointed a Panelist for Pitch-it to the Panel™ for the Institute.
